Quick Guide for SSL Certificate Installation on Plesk Onyx

Before you start an SSL Certificate Installation on your Plesk Onyx web server, you should have an SSL certificate from Certificate Authority. In order to get an SSL certificate, you need to generate a Certificate Signing Request / CSR on your Plesk Onyx web server and submit it to the Certificate Authority.

Let’s get into the process of Installing an SSL Certificate on Plesk Onyx Web Server.

Step 1: Access Plesk Control Panel.

Step 2: Click on the option “Websites and Domains” from the left-hand side and then click on the option “SSL/TLS certificates”.

Step 3: Now locate the certificate, which you want to install on your web server. Pick the right SSL certificate from your certificate list.

Step 4: It will populate the console where you can see an SSL certificate properties details. Now, It’s time to upload your SSL certificate which you got from the Certificate Authority. It will be *.crt, and *-crt.

Note: You can copy and paste SSL certificate and CA bundle certificate using a text editor.

Step 5: Make sure you copy and paste certificates properly as instructed in step 4. Once you have done, then hit the button called “Upload Certificate”. And, that’s it.

Step 6: You have completed the process of SSL certificate Installation on Plesk Onyx web server. It’s time to assign an SSL certificate. Click on the option “Websites and Domains” and then “Hosting Settings”.

Step 7: Click on the “Security” segment and enable both the options “SSL/TLS Support Box” and “Permanent SEO-safe 301 redirect from HTTP to HTTPS”.

Step 8: Select the certificate from the certificate list and then click on the “Apply” button.
